Kane Schools Put on "Warning Status" by State Department of Education

It's the first time Kane High School has been placed on "warning status" by the Sate Department of Education. Both the high school and Kane Elementary have been notified of the status because three student groups did not hit the mark on state examinations. Now the schools must improve or risk remedial action by the state. According to preliminary reports, although the two schools received a "warning status," the school district itself did achieve annual yearly progress and did achieve academic improvement under the No Child Left Behind program.
