As part of an incident that occurred on November 29, 2011 village police charged Derrick R Barker, 20, of Harrison Valley, Pennsylvania. The charges stem from a pursuit involving the New York State Police. The charges in the village of Wellsville are Unlawfully Fleeing a police officer, Passed red light and reckless driving. Barker was arraigned in village court and remanded to the Allegany County Jail on bail previously set.
Village police arrested Turner N Polen, 85, of Wellsville charging him with Menacing 3rd. The charge stems from a disturbance on Farnum Street in the village. Polen was processed and arraigned in village court where he was released to reappear at a later date.
