Former Bradford Police Chief Granted Continuance

It may not be until next year that  Michael Close will be going to trial. The former Bradford City Police Chief had a court appearance yesterday in Carrollton and was granted a continuance until next month. The 52 year old is is accused of assaulting a woman on May 9 in a vehicle while it was parked on the side of U.S. Route 219 in Limestone. Close had been charged with the assault of the same victim during a domestic dispute in March of 2010 while still serving as police chief. He retired from his position with the department shortly after that incident.
