Congressman Reed Criticizing Wasteful Spending

Congressman Tom Reed is spotlighting the 11 percent of unemployment benefits in the United States that were paid out incorrectly. Tom Reed is citing in this week’s latest example of wasteful spending, that approximately $14 billion in unemployment benefits were paid out to people who didn’t qualify for the benefits. Reed says that this is just another case of how the federal government fails to operate in a cost-effective manner. Reed added that his criticism is not directed toward those receiving the benefits, but towards a bureaucracy that fails to double check their system.
