More Names to be Added to Fallen Firefighter Memorial
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed legislation to expand the list of names on the Fallen Firefighter Memorial beyond those volunteers and professionals who died as a direct result of line-of-duty injuries. The memorial wall at Empire State Plaza in Albany has more than 2,300 names with the earliest dating from 1811. Under the new law, names will include those killed "from services performed in the line of duty.''
