Buffalo Organizations Band Together Against Fracking
What the frack? Tomorrow more than 20 local organizations will band together to co-host "A People's hearing" on fracking. Hydraulic fracturing, known as fracking, is a process that is used to extract natural gas from shale bedrock. Studies show fracking to be dangerous. The organizations holding the hearing feel that Western New York has not been given enough of a voice in the state debate over hydrofracking. The hearing will be held from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. at the Burchfield Pennery Art Center at Buffalo State College. You can visit www.peopleshearing.com for more information such as a list of speakers and workshops.
