13 Killed and Hundreds More Injured in Pennsylvania Memorial Day Weekend Car Accidents

Thirteen people were killed and 311 others were injured in the hundreds of crashes investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police over Memorial Day weekend. Hundreds of crashes were reported over the weekend not including accidents investigated by local police. According to State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan "Nine of those killed over the weekend were not wearing seat belts." State Troopers cited over 1,000 individuals for not wearing seat belts. The seat belt initiative is spanning across the state of Pennsylvania as well as New York. Yesterday NYS troopers were stopping cars at a checkpoint on East Main Street in Allegany.
