TSA Holding Back Unused Equipment According to Congressman Reed

Congressman Tom Reed is not happy with the 184 million dollars worth of screening machines that are just sitting in a warehouse in Texas. According to the Transportation Security Office there are 5700 pieces of security equipment that TSA says doesn’t work or was not properly tested. Reed says that the $184 million dollars worth of equipment is being wasted in a warehouse at an additional annual cost of $3.5 million when it could be used to keep Americans safe in airports. According to Reed, his office plans on taking action as part of his ongoing spotlight on waste fraud and abuse in the government.
