The
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says 43-year-old Thomas Meyers and
41-year-old Stephanie Mummert, both of Pennsylvania, were near Smith Boys
marina on Chautauqua Lake when
their boat exploded and caught fire Monday. Both grabbed life vests and jumped into
the lake. Mummert suffered burns
to her lower leg and was taken to WCA. Meyers was uninjured. Boaters in the
area helped them out of the water.
The vessel was a total loss.
