Amity, NY - April 12, 2012
Around 1:51 AM Amity based State Police in Allegany County responded to a 911 call of a burglary in-progress at a residence on ST-275 in the Town of Wirt. The home owner went outside to investigate his dogs barking and noticed his ATV had been rolled out of the garage and observed a person laying under his camper. Tprs. Garland and Pomeroy responded and were assisted by Tprs. Bonerb and Tavernier. The suspect, later identified as DUSTIN M. GRANGER, 19, of Delevan, NY, fled into the surrounding woods. Assistance in tracking GRANGER was requested and NYSP K-9 handler Tpr. Nolte responded with K-9 Nugent. GRANGER was tracked and located hiding in the woods approximately 200 yards from the residence. GRANGER was arrested without incident and charged with Burglary 3rd and Possession of Marihuana. He was arraigned in the Town of Wirt Court and remanded to the Allegany County Jail on $7,500 bail.
