The Pennsylvania Fire Marshal says that a blaze that caused $25,000 in damage to a multi-tenant home on Allegany Avenue in Emporium was arson. Investigators say an accelerant was used to ignite a refrigerator in a basement apartment. The fire quickly spread to the walls and ceiling…no injuries were reported. Emporium firefighters contained the blaze to the basement and other occupants of the building were safely evacuated. The investigation continues this morning.
