Traffic stop leads to arrest of robery suspect and impaired driver

PRESS RELEASE
On February 2nd, 2012, Troopers ROBERT MORRIS and PAUL ANTHONY assisted the Lakewood/Busti Police Department with a vehicle stop on Route 394 in the Town of North Harmony. Investigation revealed that one of the passengers, THOMAS CHRISTESON, 26, of Bradenton, Ohio, was involved in a strong arm robbery that had recently occurred in Warren, PA. CHRISTESON was arrested as being a Fugitive From Justice and transported to SP Jamestown. The driver, PHILIP GEORGE, 22, of Akron, Ohio, was believed to be under the influence of an unknown drug, and was placed under arrest for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs after failing several roadside tests. GEORGE was also transported to SP Jamestown and then evaluated by Chautauqua County Drug Recognition Expert Deputy Forsberg. A urine sample was secured from GEORGE, and both GEORGE and CHRISTESON were processed for their respective charges. Both suspects were then arraigned in the Town of Busti Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
