The World Turns to Marcellus Shale After a Natural Gas Boom

A natural gas boom in this country is causing Europe, China and Russia to focus on Marcellus Shale drilling right here in our area. That's according to an article in this morning's Bradford Era, which indicates that Russia could be the big loser if the U-S no longer has to import natural gas from that country. Meanwhile, while thousands of Marcellus Wells have been drilled in Pennsylvania's northern tier, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation says it expects to miss a November 29th deadline for finalizing regulations that would have allowed Marcellus Shale development in the Empire State. That means the moratorium on Marcellus Shale fracking would remain in place for at least a while longer.
