A Public Hearing Discusses Changes to School Property Tax

In Harrisburg, there’s a public hearing today on a proposal to replace the school property tax.  Under the proposal, the school property tax would go away but the state income tax would rise from 3-point-zero-seven percent to four percent and the state sales tax would be hiked from six percent to seven percent.  But State Rep Marty Causer of McKean county says it’s not a workable plan at this point.
