Emporium Man Being Sought by Police for Alleged Kidnapping

Thomas E. Smith is still being sought after police say he was involved in a alledged kidnapping that ended in a car crash Wednesday afternoon in Emporium. Police say it all started when the 58-year-old from Emporium allegedly made threats against two bank employees; forcing one into her own car and gunpoint and telling her to drive. When she did, she had to slow down for a vehicle pulling out; that's when investigators say she crashed the vehicle on purpose. She was not hurt, and Smith took off. Police believe Smith's home is currently in foreclosure by the bank, and he is described as armed and aggravated. Police say to look out for Smith, who is described as a white male about 5-feet-10-inches with a thin build, white hair, and mustache and walks with a limp. If you see him do not approach him and call the police.
