Detour in Elk County Lifted

Work has wrapped up on a project on Route 2007 (Old Kersey Road/ Irishtown Road) in Elk County. The project replaced an old box culvert on the route, removing it from PennDOT’s list of structurally deficient bridges in the county. The detour that had been in place since July 19 was lifted today. The bridge spans Laurel Run between Kersey and Saint Marys in Fox Township and carries an average of more than 1,500 vehicles per day. Crews will continue work in the area to complete site restoration and guide rail updates in the next few days.
