Public Hearing About Wind Turbine Height set for August

A public hearing is set for August 21 on the height limit for wind turbines. The Allegany Town Board aproved the hearing that will take place at 7 p.m. at the Allegany Senior Center. A previous board approved construction of a 29 wind turbine farm and those who oppose the project say turbines over 500 feet will be noisy, among other things. Concerned Citizens of Cattaraugus county also have the project on hold with litigation pending on securing a route to get materials to the site.
