Olean Gets Greener

The city of Olean may be a little greener soon. At the Olean Common Council meeting last night the council voted to authorize Mayor Witte to sign a grant application to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation under the Urban and Community Forestry Program. If the city receives the grant a variety of trees will be planted around the city. City of Olean Mayor Linda Witte says that these trees will be a big benefit for residents. Through the grant the trees will be given to Olean at zero cost, but the grant does not cover the manpower that will be needed to plant the trees.
