The city pools are prepared for the large number of swimmers they expect during this heat wave and are officially open for the season, after opening a day early Tuesday to give residence a break from the sweltering temperatures. Director of Recreation Services John Anastasia says that it’s also important for his lifeguards to stay cool so they can keep others safe.
