Cattaraugus County Discusses Property Tax Cap Law

The Cattaraugus county legislators called a Committee of the Whole meeting earlier this week. Cattaraugus county legislators held a special meeting Wednesday to discuss the two percent property tax cap law. According to County Administrator Jack Searles the county must take 184 thousand dollars out of this years budget and use it to reduce next years tax levy so that it doesn’t exceed the two percent tax increase.
