This weekend Ivers J.Norton Elementary School will have its last open house before it closes forever. Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon the school will be open for past and present students, teachers and staff to reminisce on all the memories the walls of IJN have witnessed. It’s closing as a result of the 3.4 million dollar budget gap that needs to be filled as a result of a decision made by the Olean City School District. Principal at IJN Linda Nottingham says that the move is going to be bitter sweet.
