House of Representatives Passed Amendment to the 2013 Energy and Water Appropriations Bill

Congressman Tom Reed is pleased that a piece of legislation he introduced to the House of Representatives has passed. Last night the House of Representatives voted 223-195 to approve an amendment to the 2013 Energy and Water Appropriations bill that would increase funding for clean-up efforts at the West Valley site. The amendment was introduced by Congressman Tom Reed and Congressman Brian Higgins. Reed says that timely cleaning of the West Valley site is a long-term public safety issue and that any delay increases the danger and cost. He added that he wanted to thank Congressman Higgins for standing up for the safety of Western New Yorkers.
