Flag Burning Ceremony Honored Former Commander of VFW

Veterans of Foreign War held their fourth annual flag burning ceremony last night, but this year also served a special purpose. The ceremony was held in honor of Robert Clemons, former commander of the VFW, who recently passed away. A stone memorial was created in his honor and tattered American flags were burned within it. Mayor Witte said she thinks this ceremony is important for the Olean community.
