Cuomo Proposes to Make Marijuana Possession Less of a Crime

It could soon be less of a crime to possess small amounts of marijuana in New York state. On Monday, Governor Andrew Cuomo proposed to make possession of 25 grams or less of pot a violation, similar to a parking ticket, rather than a misdemeanor. Buffalo Republican Senator Mark Grisanti proposed similar legislation a year ago, but found no backing for his proposal in the state Senate.
