Car Emissions Tested

New legislation has been proposed to change how often drivers have to have their cars emissions tested. Pennsylvania Senator John Wozniak co-sponsored the bill, which would exempt news cars and alternative fuel vehicles from having to get their emissions inspections for ten years. The bill would also exempt electric and hybrid cars from emissions testing. Senator Wozniak said that when the state first started requiring emissions inspections many old, polluting cars were on the road, now almost all of the cars tested pass their emissions tests and it is an unnecessary cost for car owners. Pennsylvania currently mandates car owners in 25 counties across the state to have their emissions levels tested.
