Cattaraugus County Health Department Shares Tips

With the summer season now upon us, the Cattaraugus County Health Department has a few tips for us. The Cattaraugus County Health Department continues to hear from and see many residents of all ages who have immediate physical needs, such as post exposure prophylaxis, due to contact with potentially rabid animals.  Rabies remains an ongoing public health problem across the state. This deadly virus can spread to pets as well as to people in contact with rabid animals. The health department wants people to be reminded to keep pets vaccinated and avoid contact with wildlife including bats, raccoons, skunks and foxes.
