Potter County: Buckingham pleaded guilty in Miller's murder

A third person has now pleaded guilty to murder in the shooting death of an Eldred man last summer. In Potter County Wednesday, 26-year old Avery Buckingham of Austin accepted a plea deal with prosecutors. Although he could spend upwards of four decades in prison, the deal recommended a sentence of 10-20 years. Earlier this year, Jonathan Prather and Kaylynn Benson, both of Coudersport accepted guilty plea’s in the shooting death of Samuel Miller. Court records show that the trio lured the 18-year old to a secluded area of Potter County, where he was shot eight times. His body was then hid under a small bridge. Buckingham will be formally sentenced on Monday.
