BREAKING NEWS---WATER RESCUE IN OLEAN

A woman was rescued from the Allegheny River just before 6am this morning. Police and firefighters from the city of Olean and fire crews from the Town of Olean responded at about 5:45 to River Road…near the Sewer Treatment plant.
WVTT news trackers tell us a 52-year old woman was clutching a tree with her feet dangling in the river.  We’re told she may have been there several hours and had hypothermic symptoms. She was pulled to safety around 6am and is now being treated at Olean General hospital. The circumstances leading to the dramatic rescue are unclear.
