Bradford Sanitation Authority receives $18.7 million

The Bradford Sanitation Authority has been awarded a state grant and a low-interest loan totaling more than $18.7 million to complete the second phase of upgrades to its wastewater treatment plant.  Pennsylvania State Senator Joe Scarnati made the announcement late Wednesday. Scarnati said the loan and grants were awarded through the state’s PENNVEST Program. He told WVTT news radio the funding is vital to protecting the environment, providing clean water to area residents and encouraging economic development. Scarnati said because the area will have new and upgraded water and sewer infrastructure, the area can promote growth the area, create new jobs and encourage economic development.
