Allegany County man faces federal charges for meat processing

An Allegany County man is facing federal charges for alleged food safety violations at his meat processing plant. Arraigned in federal court, 37-year old Keith Middaugh of Scio was released on $5,000 bond. He is charged with violating the Federal Meat Inspection Act and making false statements. According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, state police executed a search warrant and discovered beef and pork were being processed in unsanitary conditions and being sold to the public. The USDA is urging anyone who had meat processed by Middaugh or purchased meat from him, call the USDA hotline.
