Allegany County: Lawmakers accept Homeland Security funds

Allegany County Lawmakers approved seven resolutions Monday. One included accepting some Homeland Security Funds.  Allegany County Law makers voted yesterday on the acceptance of 63,000 dollars in Homeland Security Funds in order to purchase new Cyber Security Hardware to use in the jail and county building. The money would be split up a couple of different ways. Twenty seven thousand dollars would go towards new hardware and software and thirty five thousand dollars would go towards interoperable communication equipment such as mobile and portable radios. According to Chairman Curt Crandall these new technologies would be extremely useful.
