STATE POLICE ARREST 2 FOR PROMOTING PRISON CONTRABAND 2ND

At about 9:45 am Renee Carryl-Roshandra, Brooklyn, NY came to Attica Correctional Facility to visit an inmate Howard Ayers, who is her godfather. Correction Officer Jerry Hendel who was assigned to guard the front gate and frisk visitors discovered a 5 1/2 inch long scalpel in the right front pocket of Renee. She immediately told the C.O. she is studying to be an EMT and forgot the scalpel was in her pocket. She was transported by Trooper Craig DiPaolo to SP Warsaw for processing. Wyoming Co. DA Don O'Geen was notified --- Ms. Carryl Roshandra was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd. --- arraigned before HON. Joseph Wollack who committed her to Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $1000 bail.




At about 11:30 a.m. prison personnel notified the state police of another visitor who was found in possession of a folding knife secreted in a pocket of his undershorts. C.O. Jonathan Streit reported Anthion Rasheed-Saunders entered the front gate to visit his brother. He was searched and passed through the metal detector and twice sounding off the alarm. Mr. Rasheed-Saunders surrendered his small folding knife. Tpr. Greg Egloff took Mr. Rasheed-Anthion into custody, transported him back to SP Warsaw where he was processed. Wyoming Co DA was notified --- Rasheed-Saunders was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd. --- arraigned before HON. Joseph Wollack, Town of Attica Court who committed him to Wyoming Co. Jail in lieu of $1000 bail.
