ASSEMBLYWOMAN BARBARA LIFTON ENDORSES NATE SHINAGAWA FOR CONGRESS

Ithaca, NY – Democratic candidate for Congress (23rd District) and Tompkins County Legislator Nate Shinagawa received the endorsement of New York Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton earlier today in front of the Tompkins County Courthouse.
In her statement, Lifton cited Nate’s six-year record as a legislator and leader as evidence that he is the clear choice to represent middle class families of the Southern Tier. Lifton believes that Nate has the energy, personal integrity and focus to help change Washington.
“In his time on the county legislature, he has impressed me with his record of supporting infrastructure investment, growing jobs, and protecting the quality of life that Tompkins County residents deserve,” Lifton said, “So it is with no reservations that I endorse Nate Shinagawa for Congress in the new 23rd district. He will be the tireless fighter that middle class families need.”
“I’m honored to have Assemblywoman Lifton’s endorsement,” said Shinagawa, “Barbara is known throughout the state for her tireless commitment to the environment and improving the lives of everyday New York residents. For years, we’ve stood together on these issues to do what’s right for our constituents.”
Nate Shinagawa has also been endorsed by Marty Luster, Lifton’s predecessor in the Assembly, County Legislature Chair Martha Robertson, Caroline Supervisor Don Barber and Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick.
