Talks on the state level to discontinue vehicle road tests in Salamanca have prompted the City Council to protest the change, which would require new drivers to travel to Jamestown or Olean for testing. According to Buffalo News correspondent Donna Snyder…a resolution was unanimously approved Wednesday to oppose any such change. Voicing support, the Council said, taking a state driver test marks a significant rite of passage in one’s life, and those visitors bring an economic boost to the city.
