Kane house fire

Fire officials continue to investigate the cause of a fire at a Kane residence late Wednesday night. Firefighters responded to the blaze at 118 Ash St. at just before midnight. State police say Charles Johnson was home at the time of the fire. Johnson discovered smoke coming from the basement of the residence. Police said there were no injuries in the fire. Officials say damage to the residence is estimated at $75,000.
