Vehicular homicide case may end in plea deal

A court appearance and possible plea deal for the man accused of causing the deaths of six Steuben County Amish residents in a vehicular accident will come next month. 42-year old Steven Eldridge of Penn Yan is charges with aggravated vehicular homicide.  Eldridge was allegedly on drugs when his vehicle struck a van carrying 13 Amish, six of whom died as a result of the accident. Prosecutors say a plea is possible in the case, but not a guarantee.  Eldridge is scheduled to reappear in court March 2.
