St. Bonaventure University fire ruled arson

Sunday’s fire at St. Bonaventure University has been labeled arson and is now actively being investigated by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies say two microwaves were stuffed with paper products at Devereaux dormitory. One of the ovens ignited in flames. As many as 300 students were evactuated from the building for about 90 minutes. The Times Herald reports today that investigators have questioned more than 80 students.  Nobody was hurt and damage was limited to the immediate area. Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact University safety officials at 716-375-2525.
