The New York State Police in Batavia report the following update regarding the ongoing investigation into the Wyoming County SPCA in Attica, N.Y.

The New York State Police in Batavia report the following update regarding the ongoing investigation into the Wyoming County SPCA in Attica, N.Y. Veterinary teams from the Erie County SPCA have now processed 431 cats at the Wyoming County facility. There are an unknown number of cats that remain loose throughout the facility, which are being captured in cage traps over time. The process of moving animals to other shelters and rescue organizations throughout the area has begun. This includes some that have gone to the Erie County SPCA’s facility on Ensminger Road in Tonawanda, N.Y., which are available for private adoption. An additional 55 cats were processed at the Wyoming County SPCA’s Eastern Hills Mall location. The Eastern Hills Mall site has been turned over to the Erie County SPCA and will be reopening for adoptions in the near future. No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.
