Kane Cheerleading Press Release

The Kane Competition Cheerleading team won 1st place and also won the spirit award for the most spirited team this past weekend at the Ultimate Cheer Spectacular at Cameron County High School in Emporium.  Brittany Kowatch also placed 2nd in the Senior Tumble Offs.

Coach Niklaus Comments:  This past weekend’s competition was none other than amazing.  This is the second weekend in a row we put our non-tumble routine on the floor.  This weekend our non-tumble routine was exhibition only due to nobody else in the division.  We were very flat during that routine and had some huge mental mistakes.  After the routine was done, we went and had a talk about what went wrong.  The squad was determined to go out on the floor and do a much better routine in the Varsity Division against an unbeaten Elk County Catholic and strong team from Dubois High School.   Everyone on the team was finally on the same page when we hit the floor.  I am positive the fan support we had was a huge factor in the team being so energized before taking the floor on our Varsity Tumble Routine.  This is the first time our team has gelled in all parts of the routine all season.  The entire team looked and performed like they wanted it.  The beauty of it is we still have things we can fix to make it even better.  We will be adding more advanced stunts this week and changing up some things in our dance to continue our preparation for Nationals in 3 weeks in Myrtle Beach.
