Cattaraugus County stays in trash biz
Operating Cattaraugus County transfer stations and transporting waste will remain a county operated responsibility. The county’s Public Works Committee rejected a proposal to privatize the operation. Casella Waste Services had proposed to offer $1.5million a year to take over the service. After reviewing the offer, lawmakers determined it was still less expensive for the county to continue to provide the services.
