Allegany Town Board holds hearing on wind energy systems---wants to hear from people

The Allegany Town Board may decide next month whether to approve a six month moratorium on wind energy conversion systems. It was a full house last night as the board held a public hearing on the topic. The Council is considering the holding pattern to allow time for new members of the Council to familiarize themselves with the issues. Fifteen community members addressed the board…most in favor of the moratorium, but some were opposed. Written comments will be accepted through March 9th. The town board may revisit the issue March 13th.
