Rev. Slocum not returning to ministry

In April, the Erie Diocese suspended Rev. Samuel Slocum based on allegations of his improper conduct with a 15-year old boy. On Wednesday Slocum was convicted on a felony and misdemeanor charge in the case. Thursday, Bishop Donald Trautman told the Bradford Era that Slocum would not be permitted back to the ministry.  Trautman said the jury has spoken.  Slocum will be sentenced next month and faces possible prison time. No word if an appeal is planned.
