New York State Police in Painted Post barracks report that the victim of the fatal accident on I-86 in the Town of Corning on 01/12/12 is 21 year-old CHRISTOPHER ALLEN WOODY. WOODY was a resident of Corning but is originally from Colorado. WOODY was struck in the roadway by multiple vehicles in the area immediately east of the Gibson Bridge in Corning. The operators of the involved vehicles have been determined not at fault.
The Monroe County Medical Examiner will provide a manner of death upon the completion of their autopsy and investigation. Initial indications from the investigation by New York State Police reveal this was likely a suicide.
