Investigators Wednesday arrested a Smethport, Pa. man on drug charges stemming from an alleged sale of cocaine in June 2007.
The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and state police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) arrested Demerio J. Watts, 27, on a grand jury indictment charging him with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Watts allegedly sold a certain amount of crack cocaine to task force agents.
Watts had been serving a sentence of incarceration at the Smithfield State Correctional Institution in Huntingdon, Pa. After waiving extradition, he was taken back to New York and remanded to the county jail in Belmont to await further court action.
