Rape allegations at school

From the Bradfortd Era
Bradford Township Police have looked into an allegation of a rape on Bradford Area School District property. Superintendent Sandra Romanowski said Thursday, “No rape happened. I was part of the investigation. An initial allegation was made, and was recanted.” When asked where the alleged incident took place, Romanowski said only that some parts of the district are in the City of Bradford, and some are in Bradford Township. McKean County District Attorney Ray Learn said he believes the alleged incident happened on school time on Wednesday in the vicinity of Bradford Area High School. “It was initially reported to a school resource officer,” Learn said. “When it was determined the alleged events happened in Bradford Township, it was passed on to Bradford Township Police.” Learn said only that the matter was under investigation, and it involved students in the school district. “All parties have been identified. The specific facts are being looked into.” Bradford Township Police did not return several calls seeking comment. Bradford City Police School Resource Officer Butch Bartlett referred questions to Bradford Township Police.
