BATH -- Bryan Ashline, convicted in the Father’s Day 2010 stabbing deaths of his ex-girlfriend and their son, was sentenced today in Steuben County Court to two 25-year to life terms in state prison without the possibility of parole.
Judge Joseph Latham sentenced Ashline to the maximum for each crime of which he was convicted of on Nov. 2.

Ashline, who is 25, received the 25-year to life sentences without parole for two counts of first-degree murder. He received two sentences of 25 years to life for two counts of second-degree murder and was also sentenced for aggravated criminal contempt and criminal possession of a weapon.

On Father’s Day 2010, Ashline stabbed and killed his ex-girlfriend, Trieste Clayton, 25, and their 3-month-old Xavier Ashline, in Clayton’s apartment.

Clayton’s mother, Cyndi Watson, addressed the court and Ashline prior to sentencing. Ashline did not address the court during the proceedings except to acknowledge questions asked by the judge.

Ashline’s lawyer, Thomas Stahr, said an appeal would be filed by the end of the day.
