Bonnies Hold Steady in 5th-place After Day Two at Zippy

AKRON, OHIO- After the second day of the University of Akron Zippy invitational, the St. Bonaventure men's swimming and diving team hold steady fifth-place with 617 points.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Peter Koenig and Ripley Danner earned the Bonnies points by finishing in fifth-place (51.96) and eighth-place (52.27), respectively. Danner also finished in ninth-place in the 100-yard butterfly (50.87).
In the 400-yard IM, Yi Liu finished in eighth-place, touching the wall with a time of 4:13.62.
In the 200-yard freestyle, James Martin earned an 11th-place finish with an overall time of 1:43.15.
Michael Burud and Robert Rutkowski Jr. both earned points for the Brown and White in the 100-yard breaststroke. Burud finished in 13th-place (59.15), just out-touching teammate Rutkowski who finished in 14th-place (59.28). 
In relay actions, the 200-yard medley relay 'A' team of Martin, Koenig, Michael Burud and Nathan Destree finished in seventh-place with a time of 1:34.12. In the 800-yard freestyle relay, the 'A' team of  Liu, Martin, Michael Dana, and Ripley Danner finished in sixth-place, touching the wall with an overall time of  7:00.90.
The Bonnies return to the pool tomorrow for the conclusion of the weekend-long event. The preliminary round begins at 9:00 a.m. and the finals will begin at 4:00 p.m.
