Allegany man charged with shoplifting

An Allegany man was arrested after he was caught allegedly stealing from the Foster Brook Walmart Sunday afternoon. According to the Bradford Era, Walmart employees had apprehended 30-year old Joshua Safford who had filled up three nylon shopping bags with merchandise and tried to leave out of the grocery store side of the store, according to Foster Township Police. Police said the merchandise amounted to $230.24 in value. Police said Safford was arraigned. Bail was set at $5,000.
