Water System Maintenance to Start Today

Beginning today and continuing through Oct. 4 crews from the city’s  Water Department will conduct routine maintenance of the water system. by flushing out water lines and fire hydrants in both the city and town of Olean. Beginning today the work will be done in North Olean including Coleman Street, Wayne Street and Homer Hill and tomorrow in West Olean from 10th Street to the west city line, including all side streets. As the work continues residents may notice rust-colored water pour from faucets in their homes. You are advised to let water run through faucets until the water is clear and hold off on doing laundry while the flushing is occurring.
