Ulysses Township House Fire

The safety of a Ulysses Township family who escaped from an early Sunday morning house fire is being credited to the family pet. The barking dog woke Tayna Stillwell and her four children around 1:30 Sunday morning to find a fire burning in their one story home off Turton Lane. All five were treated for smoke inhalation. Unfortunately the dog died in the blaze. The home was a total loss and the cause ruled accidental. An initial investigation traced the cause to a faulty flue from the stove thru the wall.
